Troubleshooting Difficulties

At times, autistic children experience difficulties in relation to a specific issue. It is not always easy to identify the issue, or to know how to help. At these times, professional assessment can help identify and resolve issues that maybe causing distress, anxiety or behaviour difficulties.

Distress and difficulties can arise due to many factors, both internal and external, and these are not always obvious.

In order to trouble shoot difficulties, we begin with a review of the autistic child’s strengths and preferences, and the difficulties they are experiencing. We work with parents and others involved in the child’s care to identify potential triggers across a range of areas. When causative factors are identified, we will develop an action plan of effective recommendations to relieve the difficulties for the autistic child. Using our knowledge and experience we support parents to implement the changes that the autistic child needs to feel safe and content.
